Shems is a Business Process Analyst for Austin Energy, the community-owned electric utility of the City of Austin, Texas. Her responsibilities include strategic planning and conducting research and business intelligence for long-term corporate planning.
Shems has been with Austin Energy for over six years. She worked for Vice Presidents over Customer Care & Marketing and the Legal Department. She conducted organizational and procedural analysis, implemented process improvements, participated in reengineering efforts, and assisted with the budget process.
Shems enjoys being involved in her community. She volunteers at The Shelter for Abused Women and Children, and for Meals on Wheels, where she delivers food to the sick and elderly. She is also active in the Moroccan Community. She participated in the Moroccan POW’s campaign and was officially recognized by the Moroccan Society of Houston for her assistance with the Katrina and Rita hurricane victims.
Shems holds a Bachelor of Business in Fashion Design and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration in Global Management. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and two children (Leila & Adam) fishing and sailing out on the lake. |
