| Mohamed Fandi was born in Casablanca. The descendant of an Arab and Berber family, Mr. Fandi came to the United States and eventually graduated with honors in the field of Tourism and Hospitality Management. He and his family now reside in Chicago, Illinois. Mr Fandi just published a book called Alien... Arab... and Maybe Illegal in America.
In his book, Mohamed Fandi writes a fascinating account of what it means to be a foreigner and an Arab living day-to-day in America, particularly after September 11. The author also answers some important questions: Why would an Arab choose to overstay his visa and risk deportation?
