Abderrazzak Nouhaili  [ September, 2007 ]
Abderrazzak Nouhaili

Born and raised in Casablanca, Abderrazzak Nouhaili grew up in a family of ten people. Being the sixth born of eight kids, he started his preschooling like most of his brothers and pairs in the neighborhood’s mosque where he learned his ABCs and the Koran. Then he went to the private and public schools of the districts of Benmsik and Derb Sultan where he got the rest of his education until his late teens. Politically active from an early age, he got arrested few weeks after his 18th birthday and was kept in captivity in the infamous secret jail of Derb Moulay Shrif, where he spend nearly four years for belonging to a subversive organization.

 

After his release from jail, Abderrazzak fled Morocco and traveled to Europe where he spend few years living in Spain, then Holland from which he traveled to Canada. Once in Canada, he asked for asylum which was granted to him after eight year. During his stay in Canada; Abderrazzak lived in Toronto where he worked to pay his way through university. He attended York University, and graduated from Glendon College with a Bilingual Honors degree in Political Science and International Relations. In his fourth year; Abderrazzak was elected president of the political science student’s body at Glendon College.  After his graduation he moved to the North East of the USA where he worked and lived for several years. After that he relocated to the south, and made Orlando his home.    

 

Away from his native country, Abderrazzak never lost his patriotism or his love for Morocco. He was and is heavily involved with Moroccans and in Moroccan affairs in North America. He always believed and still believes in a strong international Moroccan organization that will serve protect and promote the interests of Moroccans and Morocco abroad.

 

As mentioned earlier Abderrazzak is no stranger to community work. He is an active member, and was a cofounder of many Moroccan organizations throughout the years. To mention few: ASSOCIATION MOROCAINE DE TORONTO (Canada), ASSOCIATION MAGHREBINE (WAS THE FIRST ORGANIZATION TO HAVE PEOPLE FROM ALL THE MAGHREB COUNTRIES) MOROCCAN ASSOCIATION OF CENTRAL FLORIDA, and the list goes on.

 

After a long stay in exile, Abderrazzak was granted a royal pardon by his majesty KING MOHAMED THE SIXTH and returned to Morocco for the first time in 2000, and he has been a frequent visitor to his beloved homeland ever since.

Abderrazzak’s Motto in Life is:  “LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT”
