In partnership with Wafin.com and the Mayor’s Office of the City of Stamford, Connecticut, USA, the Saida Fikri Foundation is organizing the second annual Moroccan Festival, called Beautiful Morocco Festival, on the 23rd of June 2012, in Stamford. The return of this event follows the huge success of the first Moroccan festival held last April.

Having attended the first festival, Michael A. Pavia, Mayor of the City of Stamford, has announced the official participation of his office in partnership with Multicultural Council of Stamford and the Stamford Downtown Special Services District. The Mayor further declared the month of June to be ‘Morocco Month’, in the City of Stamford.

The Festival will take place at the Mill River Park at Archstone, in the center of Stamford, directly across the street from Columbus Park.  In addition to the many activities throughout the afternoon, a multi-cultural concert will take place the night of the festival, featuring the world-renowned Moroccan singer/songwriter, Saida Fikri, as well as other local and international artists. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Beautiful Morocco Festival will open to the public at 1pm. The concert will follow starting at 8pm and ending at 10:30pm.

The goals of the festival are as follows:

·        To offer exposure to the eccentric Moroccan culture to the American public

·        To provide an opportunity to the Moroccan-Americans in the area to reconnect with their culture

·        For Multi-cultural unity

·        Offer Moroccan and American Businesses to advertise their products and services.

·        Fundraiser for building a school in a rural and needy area in Morocco
