Dr. Mohammed Errihani was born and raised in Fez.He holds a Bachelor’s degree and a diplome des Etudes Approfondies (DEA) in
English Literature from the University of Fez, a Master’s degree in Applied
Linguistics and a Ph.D. in English Language and Rhetoric from the University of
Illinois at Chicago.He is currently director
of the ESL program and professor of linguistics at Purdue University Calumet.
Prior to Purdue, Si Mohammed taught at Al-Akhawayn
University for two years (1996-1998) and again for two semesters in 2006.He also spent over a decade at the University
of Illinois at Chicago, both as a student and faculty.
Si Mohammed has presented at conferences, researched, written,
and published on rhetoric, language policy, and the Berber Cultural Movement in
Morocco. His book on Language Policy in Morocco: Implications of recognizing
and teaching Berber has recently been published.This work represents the first attempt at
examining the policy that called for the teaching of Berber to all Moroccan
children, regardless of their ethnic and linguistic background.The book is available at amazon.com, Barnes

In his spare time, Si Mohammed enjoys running (he has run three
Chicago marathons), playing soccer, reading, listening to a good joke, and
socializing with family and friends.He also
enjoys traveling, especially in Morocco, which he visits at least once a
year.He lives in the Chicago area,
where he has lived since the early 90s, but Fez, Ifrane, Rabat, and Tangier remain
the cities he is most passionate about, and Moroccans everywhere remain his
most adored people.
